Brother of my grandfather, James Emmit Deel.

Bertie Guy Deel was born on Saturday, May 27, 1893 to George Washington Deel and Florence Emaline "Galley" Brookshire.

He had thirteen siblings: Alexander Lafayette Deel, Walter Robert Deel, James Emmitt Deel, Charlie Ivan Deel, George "Henry" Deel, Alley Lee Deel, Flora Lurena Deel Blount, Essie Adron Deel Ivison, Katy "Jewell" Deel Miller, Florence Virginia Deel, Noel "Pete" Deel, Willie Graves Deel, and Orris V. Deel, Sr.

His paternal grandparents were Peter Abraham Deel, III and Isabella Serena Duff and his maternal grandparents were Graves Goodrich Brookshire and Sarah Frances Bacon.

He married Jewell Elizabeth Robbins on October 17, 1915 in Hamlin, Texas. They were blessed with one daughter, Floida LaVeryne Deel Bryan.

He was a retired painter and paperhanger.

He died at 6:05 a.m. on Thursday, November 5, 1970 in Rotan, Fisher County, Texas.
