The brother of my grandfather, James Emmit Deel.

Alley Lee Deel was born on Thursday, April 9, 1896 in Fisher County, Texas to George Washington Deel and Florence Emaline "Galley" Brookshire.

He had thirteen siblings: Alexander Lafayette Deel, Walter Robert Deel, James Emmit Deel, Charlie Ivan Deel, George "Henry" Deel, Birtie Guy Deel, Flora Lurena Deel Blount, Essie "Adron" Deel Ivison, Katy "Jewell" Deel Miller, Florence Virginia Deel, Noel "Pete" Deel, Willie Graves Deel, and Orris V. Deel, Sr.

His paternal grandparents were Peter Abraham Deel, III and Isabella Serena Duff and his maternal grandparents were Graves Goodrich Brookshire and Sarah Frances Bacon.

He married Ethel Cornellia Ensminger on April 9, 1916, in Jones County, Texas. They were blessed with six children: Celeste Deel Slack, Fayrene Deel, Vergie Geraldine Deel, Winona Deel Sanders, Joann Deel Kennedy, and Billy Thomas Deel.

He died on Sunday, November 2, 1980 in Jones County, Texas. He was 84 years old.
