The brother of my grandfather, James Emmit "Jim" Deel.

Willie Graves Deel was born on September 28, 1906 in Rotan, Fisher County, Texas to George Washington Deel and Florence Emaline "Galley" Brookshire.

He had thirteen siblings: Alexander Lafayette Deel, Walter Robert Deel, James Emmit "Jim" Deel, Charlie Ivan Deel, George "Henry" Deel, Birtie Guy Deel, Alley Lee Deel, Flora Lurena Deel Blount, Essie "Adron" Deel Ivison, Katy "Jewell" Deel Miller, Florence Virginia Deel, Noel "Pete" Deel, and Orris V. Deel, Sr.

His paternal grandparents were Peter Abraham Deel, III and Isabella Serena Duff and his maternal grandparents were Graves Goodrich Brookshire and Sarah Frances Bacon.

He married Mayme Viola Merritt on November 28, 1928 in Scurry County, Texas. They were blessed with four children: Billy Deverne Deel, Chloie Jeannine Deel Stevens Vanmeter, Joe Allen Deel and George Arlen Deel.

He died on November 26, 1967 in Jones County, Texas. He was 61 years old.
