Hatton, John G. John passed away on November 4, 2011, at age 89. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Louise (nee Hagen). He also leaves a daughter, Ellen Sostarich (Michael), daughter-in-law Kathleen Hatton, niece Kaye Vance and four granddaughters, Rebecca Schultz (Jeff), Rachel Dunphy (Brian), Leila Panno (Tim) and Elizabeth Hatton. He has seven great-grandchildren Sara, Connor, Gage, Fred, Hazel and Riley. He was preceded in death by his son Fredric, granddaughter Cora, sister June Dreier and brother James. John was born in Niagara, Wisconsin, to Katherine and Leslie Hatton. The family moved to Milwaukee in 1928. John attended Milwaukee Public Schools, graduating from South Division in 1940 where he edited the school paper, the Cardinal, and at graduation was named Chairman of the Class Council. John met Louise at South Division, and they became a couple. John graduated from Milwaukee State Teachers College (now University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) in 1944 where he and Louise were chosen King and Queen of the Junior Prom in 1943. John entered the Navy in 1943 and after training at Notre Dame and Harvard became an officer on a ship in the Pacific. When John came back to the states, Louise went to meet him in San Francisco and they married there on July 8, 1945. After serving in WWII John worked briefly for United Air Lines before becoming a teacher in Milwaukee Public Schools and obtaining his Masters Degree at UWM. He was appointed Vice Principal at John Muir and Samuel Morse Junior Highs and in 1970 became principal at Audubon Junior High. He retired in 1982. John and Louise moved from Milwaukee to Brookfield in 1952. They became charter members at Brookfield Congregational United Church of Christ where calling hours will be held Thursday, November 10, from 1-2:30 PM followed by a memorial service.
