Korpela, David Wayne Born to Eternal Life on Friday, March 9, 2012, at the age of 78. Survived by loving wife Barbara (Rubner) of 57 years, brothers Calvin and Jerry, children Michael (Marcene) Korpela, Kathy (Mike) Gallenberger, Ron (Shanna) Korpela, Lori Larch, David (Joan) Korpela and Ken (Kelly) Korpela. Also survived by 19 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by parents Isaac and Olga Korpela, brothers Ray, Arnold, Carroll and Robert, and sisters Dorothy and Ivy. David taught and coached at Brookfield Central for 29 years in addition to John Muir Junior High. He was Director of Drivers Ed, officiated football and basketball, and was an avid handball player. He loved telling stories, dancing, and was a professional party-Finnisher (SISU). He lived his life with unconditional love, kindness, humor, generosity and faith. Greatest father and grandfather of all time. Funeral Arrangements: Visitation Monday, March 11, 2012, at Schmidt and Bartelt, 10121 W. North Ave, between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass at St. Sebastian's Church on 55th and Washington Blvd. Visitation from 10:00 AM 11:00 AM, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials to Wisconsin Upside Down Foundation, Milwaukee Rescue Mission or St. Sebastian's Parish.
