Gladyes Margarett Carpenter. 74, of Prickett's Creek Road, died Thursday (April 4, 1996) in her home after a long illness.

She was born June 26, 1921, in Catawba, Marion County, a daugh­ter of the late Joseph and Rosetta Summers Kisner.
Her husband, Wayne Carpenter, preceded her in death Sept. 18, 1990.

She was a homemaker and was Methodist by faith.

Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Jean Carpenter, Gary and Janis Carpenter, Vernon and Belinda Carpenter, Charles and Freda Carpenter, and Walter and Linda Carpenter, all of Fairmont; four daughters and sons-in-law, Florence and John Sanders of Shinnston, and Sylvia and Clyde VanGilder, Gladyes and John Stanley, and Rose and Mike Heston, all of Fairmont; two sisters, Mrs. Willie (Rose) Slider of Smithtown and Mrs. Norman (Pauline) Desmuke of Fairmont; 32 grandchildren; 31 great-great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

Two brothers, George Kisner and John Kisner, are deceased. She was also preceded in death by two sis­ters, Mary Shaffer and Ruby Kisner.

Friends may call at the Frey Home for Funerals today from 4-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Services will follow in the funeral home Saturday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Whoolery officiating. Burial will be at the Bunner Ridge Cemetery.

She was also survIved by ~ 31 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchll­dren and one great-grear-grand-child. She was also preceded in death by a daughter. Clara Rager. [Names omitted]

Funeral services were Saturday (April 6, 1996) and burial was at the Bunner Ridge Cemetery The Frey Home for Funerals was in charge of arrangements.
