Ellen is survived by her husband Bob, her 3 children Bob Jr., Jeanne, and Julie and her 5 grandchildren, Sarah, Catherine, Mark, Mary and Lorelei. Ellen was the daughter of Lt Gen "Weary" Wilson and Jeanne Herman of Mobile, AL. An Army brat, Ellen was born June 13th, 1940 at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and thrived on Army life from Minnesota, to Morocco to Mobile to Alexandria VA, where her father was Chief Of the Army Corp of Engineers during the Kennedy and Johnson administrations. Ellen met her husband Bob, who was the only Second Lieutenant brave enough to date the post commander's daughter.

Ellen applied her boundless energy and enthusiasm first to being a teacher and Army wife, then to raising her three children, Bob Jr., Jeanne and Julie. Ellen and Bob settled in St Simons Island, GA in 1980. Always active, Ellen coached girls softball, was an avid tennis player and was one of the more memorable character actors in the Island Players. Ellen was happiest playing games in the sands of SSI beaches with her children and grandchildren.
