Franklin C. "Chip" Flynn Sr., 77, of Meredith Springs Community, Fairmont, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 5, 1923, in Morgantown, son of the late James Hugh and Laura Pearl Radabaugh Flynn.

He was a retired construction pipefitter and member of the United Association of Plumbers, Pipe Fitters and Steam Fitters Local Union 152 in Morgantown. He retired in 1985. He was a resident of Meredith Springs Community for nearly 50 years.

He is survived by a son and spouse, Franklin Carl and Kathy Flynn Jr., of Bellview Community; two daughters, Marilyn Kim Flynn and Robin Flynn, both of Meredith Springs Community; a brother, Jimmie Flynn, of Meredith Springs Community; two sisters and sp ouses, Norma and Clifford Tennant, of East Fairmont, and Betty and Bill Pifer, of Springfield, Ohio; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Messelling, of Oxford, Ohio; two great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Alta "Jo" Flynn, Feb. 5, 1984.

Friends may call at Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, Rivesville, from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, until the 1 a.m. service with the Rev. Kevin Cain officiating. Private graveside services will be held in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover.
