1912 - 2012 Doris Virginia Bitter, died on Christmas day 2012. Doris lived to be 100 years old. She is survived by her children Karen Bashford of Naples, Ontario, NY, John Bitter of Webster, Monroe, NY, James Bitter of El Paso, El Paso, TX, and Nancy Parsons of Melbourne Beach, FL. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren and her sister, Francese Setien of VT. She is also survived by her step-children David Bitter of Norfolk, VA, Doris Pettibone of Phoenix, Maricopa, AZ, and Richard Bitter of DE. Doris was born in Vermont and had 10 siblings. She was employed in World War II by Republic Aviation in Farmingdale, Nassau, Long Island, NY where she riveted P47 Thunderbolt airplanes, where she married sheet metal man Victor Bitter until he passed on in 1986. Her joy was caring for her husband and children in Upstate, NY. She loved nature and spent many joyous occasions with her family camping and fishing. She also enjoyed gardening in her vegetable garden and sewing clothes for her family. She and her family moved to Florida in the 60's where she enjoyed the rest of her life by the ocean. Throughout her life she loved God, her family, and The United States of America. In her later years, her favorite song that she sang frequently was "God Bless America!"
