Mary McNicholas Armstrong of Viera Manor died Saturday, February 23, 2014 at age 101.

Mary was born in Ned, PA on May 2, 1912.

She was an Alumni of Melbourne High School. After graduation, she entered North Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing.

After her husband Ted's retirement in 1976, they moved to Lake Park, FL.After 11 years, they moved to West Melbourne and finally to Viera Manor.

Mary did voluntary work at Palm Beach Garden Medical Center for ten years and also volunteered at Homes Regional Medical Center for ten years.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Edward (Ted) Armstrong, whom she was married to for 79 years, her son James Edward and daughter Patricia Ann Howick.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Jane Kaminski of Tenino, Washington; her sister Rita Long of Melbourne, FL and many grand and great-grandchildren.

Viewing at Brownlie and Maxwell Funeral Home on Sunday, March 9, from 4 until 6pm. Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 11am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Melbourne. Burial will be at the Florida Memorial Gardens following service.
