Mil­dred Baker Bur­rell, 101, of Delaware, died Fri­day (Aug. 24, 2012) in the Sarah Moore Home.

She was born May 31, 1911, in Leonards­burg, to Joseph and Ada (Cosgray) Baker. She grad­u­ated from Ash­ley High School and attended Bliss Busi­ness Col­lege. She was the pre­vi­ous owner of Bur­rell Insur­ance Co. and later became a part-time stu­dent at Ohio Wes­leyan Uni­ver­sity. She was a mem­ber of the First Pres­by­ter­ian Church, Cos­mopoli­tan Club, George Lewis Behrens O.E.S., bridge clubs, Gypsy Club of Colum­bus and was a for­mer sec­re­tary of the Delaware County Insur­ance Association.

She is sur­vived by a daugh­ter, Kather­ine Forsythe of Delaware; a grand­son, Peter Wil­son of New Jer­sey; three great-grandchildren, Kyra, Coryn and Jason Wil­son; a niece, Mar­garet Baker Miller of Grand­view and three nephews, Donal Baker of Florida, Dale and Vin­cent of Colum­bus and a dear friend Patti Smith of Delaware.

She was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, Harold, in 1965, and a brother, Harold Baker.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sun­day at the Robin­son Funeral Home, where funeral ser­vices will be held at 11 a.m. Mon­day with the Rev. Deb­o­rah Pat­ter­son offi­ci­at­ing. Bur­ial will fol­low in Oak Grove Cemetery.
