OBIT: Mrs. Mary E. Balsley dies on November 17, 1921
Ill for some time but feeling slightly improved Wednesday, Mrs. Mary E. Balsley aged 74, of 16 East Craig Street took suddenly worse at 1:00 Thursday morning and passed away in the arms of her daughter, Mrs. Maloney, who resided with her mother. Mrs. Balsley was a native of Uniontown. Her husband died about 40 years ago. For about a year she had suffered from a complication of diseases, being bedfast at times. Thursday morning her daughter was attracted to her mother's bedroom and just as she lifted her the aged woman succumbed.
Mrs. Balsley was a member of the Methodist Protestant church and well-known in the section of the city to which she resided. Besides Mrs. Maloney she is survived by the following children:
J. Frank Balsley, Jesse Balsley of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Ella Chalfant of Buffalo NY and Mrs. Robert Goodwin and Mrs. Charles Clement of this city.
Funeral services will be held from the home Sunday afternoon at 1:00 and interment will be in Park Place cemetery.
