Atkins Funerals Held at Udall

Double Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Mae Atkins and her son William H. Atkins, were held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the cemetery at Udall. The Rev. R.F. McBrien officiated.

Mrs. Atkins, 70, and her son, William H., 46, both were victims of the Wednesday night Udall tornado. The family had lived in Cowley county more then 45 years. The husband and father, Joseph Atkins died in October 1953.

Surviving are five sons and brothers, Vaughn of Wichita, Noble of Colorado Springs, Donald of Midkiff, Texas, Gilbert of Wichita and Eugene of Pocoima, Calif.; four daughters and sisters, Mrs. Iva Newman, of Bell Gardens, Calif., Mrs. Mary Bascastow of Newkirk, Okla., Mrs. Pearl Young of Sedan and Mrs. Inez Heidel of Anderson, Calif; two brothers, Virgil Calcote of Vian, Okla.; and Cecil Calcote of Wichita; two sisters, Mrs. Birch Thompson of Muskogee, Okla., and Mrs. Susy Gregg of Vian, Okla.
