Michael Ahern, son of Tom Ahern and Johanna Ahern, formerly Conlon, was born on 1 April 1889, at Cash's Lane, Limerick.
His father was a Carpenter.

In the 1901 census, the Ahern family were living at Cashes Lane, Limerick.

Michael Ahern, aged 25, a bachelor, a Private in the Royal Irish Regiment, died at the Military Hospital, Limerick, on 15 April 1915.
The cause of death was Inflammation of the Liver, 14 days, Abcess, certified.

Cemetery Records note that he served in 19th Battalion, of 18th Regiment
