John E. Bechtel, 86 of 10250 Metcalf road, died Thursday July 17, 1986. In the St. Clair Medical center, he was born Oct. 15, 1899 in Elmer. Mr. Bechtel is survived by two sons, Robert and Gerald e. Bechtel, both of Yale. One daughter, Mrs. George Barbara Jean Brown, and one sister Mrs. Mary Collins, both of Port Huron. 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, in the Arthur Smith Funeral home North Chapel, Port Huron. the Rev. Harold Prong, burial will be in Freemont Cemetery. Pallbears will Robert W., Gerald L., and David E. Bechtel, Clayton W. Cooley, Clifford Reifert, and George Brown. Visitng is from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today.
