Pamelia was born to Joseph Frye and Mary Emerson. (Her mother also used the name Molly.) She had the following siblings:
Mary Robinson Frye 1811-1814; Alexander Frye 1812-1860; Mary Robinson Frye 1815-?; Joseph Gilbert Frye 1817-1866.

Nathan Bailey Jr. was Pamelia's first husband whom she married April 6, 1839 in Andover, MA. Nathan was the son of Nathan Bailey Sr. and his first wife, Elizabeth/Betsy Abbott (Betsy died Oct. 24, 1817 about 1 1/2 years after giving birth to Nathan Jr). No children have been located from the marriage of Pamelia and Nathan. Nathan Jr. died of consumption at the age of 38, January 8, 1854 in Andover. Pamelia continued to live with her in-laws, Nathan, Sr. and Cloe (Poor) Bailey (2nd wife of Nathan Sr.).

Tristram B. Bailey and his parents lived next door to Nathan Sr. & Cloe Bailey (1855 Massachusetts State Census). He and Pamelia wed January 1, 1856 in Methuen, MA. The 1860 Federal Census shows Tristram as the Superintendant of a Poor House. He was living with his wife, Pamelia, and their servant, Mary A. Townsend.

Pamelia gave birth to Emma Frances Bailey December 12, 1860. It is believed that Emma was the only child born to the couple. Pamelia died in Andover of dropsy at the age 40 years, about six months after giving birth. Eight months later, Tristram married his servant, Mary A. Townsend.

The birth of Pamelia's daughter is recorded in several sources. One record from the Ancestry.com collection "Massachusetts Town and Vital Records 1620-1988" appears to say that Pamelia's middle name was Emma. This would be consistent with the naming of her daughter.

Pamelia descends from supporters of the American Revolution. Her paternal grandfather and great grandfather, James Frye and Col. James Frye were soldiers during the war. Her maternal grandfather, Seth Emerson, was also a soldier on the side of the colonists during the Revolution.

Pamelia's mother, Mary (Emerson) Frye, remarried after Pamelia's father died in 1832. Her second husband was Stephen Gage (m. 17 September 1835, Methuen, MA) and they appear together in the 1855 Massachusetts State Census living in Methuen. Stephen died May 30, 1857.
