Quentin C. Adams, 85, Shoemakersville, died Saturday, May 29, 2010, at 7:55 a.m. in Kutztown Manor, where he resided since February 2009.
His wife, Mae E. (Lengel) Adams, died Jan. 22, 2009.

Born in Tilden Township, he was a son of the late Oscar and Ella (Potteiger) Adams.

He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II.

Quentin worked as a sand mixer for Rockwell International, Wyomissing, from 1964 until retiring in 1986.

He was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden Township.

Quentin was a charter member of Central Berks Fire Company and beneficial association, Centerport.

He was also a member of the Union Fire Company, Hamburg; its beneficial association; and the Shoemakersville Fire Company.

Surviving are two sons, Dale A. Adams, companion of Ruth (Yeager) Breininger, Windsor Township, and Dean A. Adams, Shoemakersville.

There are also a brother, Richard L., husband of Patricia A. (Rubright) Adams, Tilden Township, and three sisters: Arlene V. (Adams), wife of William Heffner, Hamburg; Audrey L. (Adams), wife of Michael Schorr, Surfside Beach, S.C.; and Sharon A. (Adams) Endes, Wilton, Wisc.

Quentin is also survived by two granddaughters, Jennifer S. (Adams), wife of William G. Bensinger III, and Jodi A. (Adams), wife of Benjamin J. Parent, and five great-grandchildren: Matthew J., Brooke A. and Luke A. Bensinger, and Joseph A. and Nathan E. Parent.

He was predeceased by three brothers: Donald, Robert and Larry Adams, and two sisters, June Adams and Gladys (Adams) Hughes.

Services will be on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Leibensperger Funeral Homes Inc., Hamburg (off-street parking in rear), with the Rev. Paul E. Buzzard officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery, Centre Township. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be sent to Juvenile Diabetes-Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter, 225 City Ave., Suite 104, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
