Robert J. Sr. Age 82, of Biltmore Dr., Horseheads, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 18, 2004, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. His surviving family includes his wife, Elsie (Marx) Davidson; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Jr. (Helen) Davidson of Setauket, Long Island, NY, Ronald (Sally) Davidson of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Robert III (Samantha) Davidson, Lorri Davidson all of Long Island, NY, Drew Davidson of Binghamton and Carrie (Dale) Ferreira of Elmira, NY.


Born, November 7, 1921, in the Bronx, NY, Bob embarked on a life long love and career in aviation mechanics. Educated in aviation mechanics even in High School in NY, Bob later entered the Military, serving in the US Army Air corps. He was a veteran of WW II and Survivor of Pearl Harbor at Hickam Field. Bob remained in the South Pacific and later until 1945 was stationed in California prior to his discharge. Returning home, he continued his career in aviation mechanics being employed as an AP Licensed airframe and engine mechanic for American Airlines. His employment moved him from LaGuardia and JFK International Airports in NY, and later to San Diego International Airport in CA, where he retired after 37 years with American Airlines. After some time in Charleston, SC, Bob and his wife moved to Horseheads and remained long time residents of Monroe Drive. As a veteran of the US Army Air corps, Bob was also a member of the Elmira Heights VFW and served as a past Chaplain there.
