Ms. Barbara Lee McCollough, 47, of Clinton, passed in her residence on December 30, 2004 at about 12:15 a.m. from a fire that started under mysterious circumstances.

She was born June 7, 1957 to Dorothy Williams McLean and the late Carson Goings in Sampson County, NC. She was the granddaughter of the late Mrs. Adell Davis Goings and Mr. Ollen "Buddy" Goings. She was also the sister of the late Mr. William Carson "C Boy" Goings. She was also close friends to Betty Baines.

She attended church at Union Chapel Holiness Church in Salemburg, NC under the late Pastor Emma Draughon and current pastor Lena Mae Gant. She also attended various other churches (Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, Olivet Institutional Baptist Church, and many others). She gave her life to God several years ago.
She also assisted her sister,Pastor Cora Lee Frink, in plate sales for the church.

Barbara also attended Sampson Community College.

Barbara was formerly employed by Hamilton Beach and the Griffin Open Air Market.
She was loved by many, hated by few (and she didn't care).
She loved her family, especially her mother, children, nieces, and nephews (and helped to raise them).

Her homegoing service was held on January 2, 2005 at the Olivet Institutional Baptist Church in Clinton, NC. Many people came to bid her farewell, as there were folks standing outside and in the dining room. She was given a beautiful eulogy by both friends and family, and the Rev. Willie Bowden, pastor of Olivet, did the interment rites at Sandhills Cemetery.

Her legacy is as follows: her sons: Jimmy McCollough, Chester Frederick, Robert Louis Johnson Jr.; foster son: Roger Lee Johnson, Jr., adopted son: Terricco Bell; Mother: Dorothy McLean; Sisters: Mary Dixon, and Rev. Cora Frink; Brother: James Franklin Williams; foster brother: Mark Stennis; Foster Sisters: Diane Maynor and Margaret Boykins; Grandson: Charles H. McLean; as well as her fiance': Mr. Patrick Lamb.

God bless all who read this and keep the family in prayer and thought.
