Beverly Patricia Collins was born to the late Clarence and Barbara Lee Collins. She was the oldest of two girls Beverly was educated in the Detroit School System she graduated from Mackenzie High School in 1969 she attended and graduated from the University of Detroit she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and earned her Teaching Certificate in 1973. she was a substitute teacher with the Detroit Board of Education for five years. For the past six years she was a member of The Gathering Place Clubhouse in Livonia in the Clerical Unit. Beverly received job training support services motivation and encouragement which enhanced her quality of life though she never married or had any children she loved her niece and nephew whom she affectionately called Crissy Love and John John also the other children in the family called her Aunt Bev. Survivors include her mother one sister Denise Willis (Clarence) one niece Crystal Diane one nephew Jonathan Lamar one uncle Dr. James Collins (Cora) of Detroit two aunts Marianne Payne of Toledo, Ohio and Delores Smith of Detroit a devoted friend Samella Williams of Detroit a host of loving cousins relatives and staff and friends of The Gathering Place Clubhouse. Pallbearers are Karl Willis, Derek Ballard, Julien Frazier, Deacon Joseph Harper, Joseph C. Harper and Bruce Brunson. Flower Bearers Deaconess and Friends. She also worked on the clubhouse crew. Taco Bell and LIncoln Behavoral Services In Canton also downtown Detroit at the federal building doing copy work for the social security judges. She will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral Arrangements were handled by the James H. Cole Funeral Home located at 2624 West Grand Boulvard in Detroit Visitation will be on Wednesday November 3, 2004 from 6:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. and Thursday November 4, 2004 from 9:00 A.M. till 9:00 P.M. family hour from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Unity Missonary Baptist Church in Detroit. Funeral services at the Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit at 11:00 A.M. on November 5, 2004. God saw the road was getting rough the hill was hard to climb he gently closed those loving eyes and whispered Peace be thine the weary hours the days of pain the sleepless nights are passed the ever patient worn out frame has found sweet rest at last Submitted by the family
