Enlisted, as a Private, 22 Dec 1863 at Norfolk, VA, in Company B, U.S. Colored Troops 1st Cavalry Regiment. Mustered out at David’s Island Military Reservation, NY.

Notes: although his Birth County is listed as Virginia Beach, His records show he was born in Princess Anne County. Virginia Beach incorporated thisa area in 1963.

Last name was also spelled Caisin, Casson, Cayson.

He was Married to Sarah A Casan.
