From the NYS Adj.-Gen.'s report on the 95th NYSV: "HEDGES, IRA M. — Age, 22 years. Enlisted, October 1,1861, at Haverstraw, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. F, October 15,1861; promoted corporal, February 20, 1862; returned to ranks, no date; promoted quartermaster sergeant, December 14, 1863; discharged, November 7, 1864."
