Christopher CROW was born in about 1631. He arrived at Hartford, Hartford Co., Connecticut and was made a freeman in 1656. He married Mary BURR, daughter of Benjamin BURR of Hartford, Hartford, Connecticut, on 15 Jan 1656/1657 in Hartford, Hartford, Connecticut.
Their children were:
Samuel CROW 1664–1698, m. Martha Moses, dau. of John Moses on 30 Jan 1688/89.
Mary CROW Clark Randall 1665–1761. m. John Clark, s. of Daniel Clark and Mary Newberry in about 1685.
Hannah Crow 1668–1684
Martha CROW Phelps 1670–1705, m. Timothy Phelps 1663-1737 in 1686.
Benoni CROW 1672–1703

He had a farm in Greenfield in Windsor, but the town allowed Edward Bartlett to sojourn with him in Windsor in 1668 while he took care of his own crop.

He abandoned his wife and children in 1680, leaving behind his debts and his family. His wife Mary also left him in about 1680, leaving their children destitute. He and his wife were separated.

On 11 Dec 1681 his estate was seized, inventoried and probated to pay the debts and to distribute to his children. It was finalized in 1684. His wife remarried Josiah Clark in abt 1681 and they had one son in Jan 1882/3.

Christopher Crow was living in Hartford in 1683. He died sometime after 1683.

Christopher Crow1 (father of Mary Crow2) who m. John Clark2) was first at Hartford, Conn., and after a few years removed to Windsor. He m. Jan. 15, 1656, Mary Burr, da. Benjamin of Hartford. The name of Benjamin Burr of Hartford is inscribed on the monument erected by the Ancient Burying Ground Association in the yard of Central Congregational Church.
Christopher Crow was a Freeman in 1656, and was at Windsor in 1668, when he was allowed by the town to have Edward Bartlett "sojourn with him until he had taken off the crop he had sown.". He had a farm at Greenfield in Windsor. In 1683 he was living in Hartford. After his death, his widow married Josiah Clark.

Text: last place of residence. It is stated that "for some cause" Christopher left Greenfield, leaving his wife and children. At about 1680 his wife also left, leaving behind her three young children "i n a suffering state". The Court intervened "in mercy to the children" and the estate was inventoried and the inventory submitted to the Court in Hartford at 1681.
