Frances Hope Petty, 101, of Covenant Village, Gastonia and formerly of Bowling Green, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011 with her loving family by her side. She was born in the Hickory Grove Section of Gaston County and was the daughter of the late Harry Lattimore and Annie Clemmer Hope.

Mrs. Petty retired from McLurd and Babington Insurance Company, Gastonia. She was a member of Bowling Green Presbyterian Church where she was a member of Circle # 1, served as the Treasurer of the Circle for over 50 years, served as President of Ladies Sunday School Class, Chairperson of Circle # 1, Treasurer of Bethel Presbytery, Typist for the Church Historian 1940-1989, Treasurer of Sunday School Class, Co-Chairperson of Women of the Church, member of the Bereavement Committee, Treasurer of Women of the Church, Recipient of Honorary Life Membership Award, Chairperson of the Women of the Church, Treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary, Secretary of the Women of the Church, Secretary/Treasurer of the 50's Plus Club.

The family wants to give a very special thanks to Dr. Ronald Digby and Staff and Covenant Village and Staff for their love and care given to our "Aunt Frances."

Mrs. Petty is survived by her brother-in-law, James T. Ormand, Sr. of Gastonia; Nieces and Nephews: James T.
