Mrs. Hettie Bowers Shell, 100, 124 Hartley Road, Elizabethton, died Monday, November 11, 2002, at Asbury Center, Johnson City.
Mrs. Shell was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late William and Angeline Bowling Bowers. She was also preceded in
death by her husband, Joe Shell, November 20, 1991, a brother, Melvin Bowling, and seven sisters, Eliza Peeks, Cora Pierce, Rose Billings, Georgia Crowe, Jackie Bowers, Minnie Bowers and Bessie Bowers.
Mrs. Shell was a dedicated member as well as a Sunday School Teacher of Slagle United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker.
SHELL -- Funeral services for Mrs. Hettie Bowers Shell, 100, 124 Hartley Road, Elizabethton, who died Monday, November 11, 2002, will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Manis and the Rev. Elbert Charpie officiating.
Music will be by the Rev. Elbert Charpie. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, at Happy Valley Memorial Park.
