After Anne's death, John married Mary J (last name unknown). Census records indicate the marriage took place in about August of 1879. Marriage records, however list a John Beath who married a Mary Runyon on October 22, 1873, in Blackford County. The grandfather, Joseph came to America with his brother, Robert, and they settled in Augusta County, Virginia. Surname originally spelled Beathe and most of the Beathes who came to Ohio and Indiana dropped the "e" off the name.
