Andrew Jackson Beathe, Jr., son of Andrew Jackson and Cynthia (Fisher) Beathe, Sr. - he married his first cousin, Mary Alice Beathe, daughter of Robert Crawford and Helen Mars (Keller) Beathe, on April 1, 1885 Carthage, Jasper County, Missouri. They had to go to Missouri to get married because Kansas didn't permit first cousins to marry.

Andrew,Jr.'s parents died when he was young, in 1870 he is living with his Uncle Joseph Beathe, in 1880 he is living with his Uncle Samuel Beathe and sometime after 1880, he migrated from Highland County, Virgina to Montgomery County, Kansas where his Uncle Robert Crawford Beathe resided.

After marrying Mary Alice Beathe, they lived in Montgomery for a year where their first son William Robert Beathe was born and then moved to Claremore, Rogers County, Oklahoma where Ida Alice was born. Sometime around 1899 Andrew and Alice went back to Highland County, Virginia by train and lived there for a year where Howard Asa Beathe was born in the old homestead. An old aunt that helped to raise Andrew still lived at the old house. They them returned to Clarmore, Oklahoma and lived there a good number of years before moving to Coweta, Waggoner County, Oklahoma. Andrew died at Coweta in 1930 and was buried in the Vernon Cemetery. Mary Alice moved back to Claremore to be with her family and she died there in 1948 and was buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

GEORGE AND LOIS BEATHE, Claremore, Rogers County, Oklahoma, March 1986:
In late March of 1986 My mother, Edna (Bretches) Parker, my Aunt Ada (Bretches) Muzingo and myself (Richard Parker) made a trip to see George and Lois. The above information was related to us by George and Lois and cleared up the mystery how Howard was born in Virginia and all the other children born in Kansas and Oklahoma.

The Karr Hotel appears to be the scene of most of the romamtic weddings in this city. Another runaway couple came in last night from Kansas and were married this morning by Esquire Woodward. The newly married pair were cousins, the groom being A. J. Beathe and the bride Miss M.A. Beathe.
