Percy S. Ayres WW I Veteran
Services for Percy S. Ayres, 75, of Douglaston will be held at 2 P.M. tomorrow in the Doyle B. Shaffer Funeral Home at Little Neck parkway and Northern Blvd, Little Neck.
Mr. Ayres was born upstate in Central Valley and since 1931 resided in Douglaston at 245-02 Thornhill avenue. He died Wednesday in North Shore Hospital, Manhasset, following a long illness.
A World War I Army veteran, Mr. Ayres worked more than 30 years for
Appleton it Cox, marine insurance company, advancing himself from an adjuster and was vice-president at retirement. He was a member of the North Hills Country Club, the Little Neck Community Church and the Little Neck-Douglaston American Legion. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn; two children, James of Woodbury, NJ., and Mrs Jean A. Glover of Huntington Station, and four grandchildren.
