Claud E. Bennett

Claud Edward Bennett, son of Allen and Sarah Tadolck Bennett was born June 27, 1884 near Long Lane, Mo. He entered into rest at the home of June 17, 1970 at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 21 days. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

On May 29, 1904 he was united in marriage with Perta Basinger at Long Lane, Mo. and this union was blessed with five children.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife, Perta: 2 daughters, Mrs. Gordon, Ruth Miller of Buffalo, and Mrs. Clifford (Claudia) Gaunt of Long Lane: 3 sons Gerald Bennett of Marne, Mich., Floyd Bennett of Sanger, California and Cecil Bennett, Long Lane, Mo.; 2 brothers: Ben Bennett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and George Bennett of Long Lane, Mo.: 22 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 21, 1970 at 2 p.m. in the Montgomery Funeral Chapel with Mr. Silus Deen officiating. Music was by Wayne Lemons, who sang, "Lead Kind by Light," Beautiful Isle of somewhere," and "Old Rugged Cross," accompanied by the organist, Jo Ann Viets. Escorts were Bob Bennett, Bud Bennett, Rex Bennett, Donald Gaunt, Larry Gaunt, and Kenneth Lane. Internment was at the Piscah Cemetery under supervision of the Montgomery Funeral Home of Buffalo.
