Born in Hope River, Queens County, Prince Edward Island, Canada.
Son of Julia (Doiron) and Mathias Le Clair, who owned and operated a farm in Hunter River, PEI. Brother of Rudolph F. Le Clair. Brother-in-law of Annie (Hogan) Le Clair.
"Jerry" never married. Six years before his death, he had moved from North Andover, Massachusetts to Rutland, Vermont. He was employed as a Foreman & Mechanic at Standard Oil Co. on Strongs Ave. in Rutland. He rented an apartment above that garage, where his body was found after dying of a heart attack.
His remains were transported back to North Andover. My father, who was a boy of 9 or 10 years old at the time, still remembers Jerry's wake/viewing being held in the living room of my grandparents' house on Middlesex Street in North Andover.
