Manuel Faria, 84, of 595 Aquidneck Avenue, Middletown, RI, died at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of the late Mary B. (Frank) Faria.

Born to the late Gabriel and Mary (Maitozo) Faria.

Mr. Faria served in the United States Army, during World War II. He was the founder of Green Acres Distributing in Middletown for over 50 years. He started work in the poultry industry, delivering eggs to many stores and residences on Aquidneck Island and continued to do so after his retirement from Green Acres Distributing. Mr. Faria was a member of the All Vets, the Newport Elks, the Knights of Columbus, the Friendly Sons, the Seven Castles, the Vasco De Gamma, the Holy Name Society and a member of its choir of Jesus Saviour Church where he was also a communicant and Past President of the Lion's Club.

He'll always be remembered for his quick wit, his big smile, his positive out look on life. He loved to meet and help people. He enjoyed life to the fullest.

He is survived by his sons Stephen Faria of Middletown, RI, and Robert Faria of Saunderstown, RI, his daughters Roby Faria and Patty Faria Gallagher both of Middletown, RI, his brothers Anthony Faria of Colorado Springs, CO, and Daniel Faria of Westport, MA, his grandchildren, Matthew & Gabriel Faria, Elise Faria, and Madeline & Annie Gallagher.

He was the brother of the late Frank Faria, Gabriel Faria, John Faria, Betty Curry and Mary Theall.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial with Military Honors.
