CIERI, Pietro G. "Joe"
Pietro G. "Joe" Cieri, 69, of Wethersfield, loving husband of Ivana (Santilli) Cieri for 45 years, passed away peacefully at home, Saturday, (December 15, 2007) with his loving family by his bedside. He was born June 28, 1938 in Palmoli province of Chieti, Italy and was the son of the late Enrico and Maria Antoinette (Lamanda) Cieri. He served in the Italian Army's Fanfare dei Bersaglieri. After moving to Hartford in 1963, Joe was a tailor and pattern maker in the area for many years, retiring in 2003. He was a longtime communicant of the Church of the Incarnation, Wethersfield. Joe was an avid bowler and member of the Tricolore Bowling League. His passions in life included music and soccer. He will be sadly missed by his devoted family, many relatives and friends. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Antony Cieri and his wife, Lisa Asadourian of Wethersfield and his daughter, Rita Cieri-Smith and her husband, John Paul Lombardi of Waterbury, two grandchildren, who he adored, Morgana and K'Ehleyr Smith, a brother, Ferdinando Cieri and his wife, Luisa of Rocky Hill, a sister, Raffaella Salerno and her husband, Vittorio of Wethersfield, an aunt, Elisa (Cieri) Maiorini of Wethersfield, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Corinto DiGiacomo of Hartford, Terzina Dellafiore of Newington, Ines and Luigi "Gino" Giansiracusa of Hartford, Armida Pace of Wethersfield, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Adua DiGiacomo, parents-in-law Salvatore and Antoinette Santilli and brothers-in-law, Tiberio Pace and Luigi Dellafiore. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 9a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, Wethersfield. Entombment in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
