My Father. Served as a corporal (Tech 5), 40th Infantry Division, 416th Replacement Company of the US Army, Phillippines, 1945-1946. Worked in sales. Was an avid amateur photographer. Married to Elena Edwards (nee Nieves) from 1967 until his death from a stroke. One son, Robert Francis, three stepchildren, George, Ellen, and Debbie.

My Father in June 1974. This is how I remember him - a big, burly guy. Probably his last photo. He died three and half months later. This was the outfit he was buried in, except with a white shirt and blue tie. I placed a flower in his hand before the coffin lid was closed for the last time.

Age 9, 1935. Dad started out as a blond but his hair darkened considerably by his teen years. The same thing happened to me, only sooner.

My Father's US Army Honorable Discharge Certificate, Good Conduct Medal, and the sunburst patch of the 40th Infantry Division he wore on his uniform. Some of the few tokens I have of him. The bottom of the certificate reads:
