Cpl. Daane A. Deboer, 24, of Ludington, Mich., died June 25 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif. Surviving are his mother and step-father Charlene and Jim Zerrenner of Ludington, his father and step-mother David and Mary DeBoer of Valparaiso, IN, three sisters Aubrey DeBoer, Ashley DeBoer and Lindsey DeBoer, his grandmother Barbara Sturrus of Grand Rapids several aunts, uncles and cousins.
