Lydia Lade was born August 16, 1890, in Canby, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank and Emilie Lade. She moved with her family to the Minot area in 1902. She married Herman Schimmelpfennig December 2, 1909. They farmed in Waterford Township, Ward County, for many years. Herman died March 7, 1946, and Lydia then moved to Ruthville where she lived until moving to the Minot Lutheran Home. She was the oldest member of Lynch Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Herman and Lydia had seven children: Laura, Lawrence, Esther, Bernhard, Ernest, Herbert and a child who died in infancy.

Mrs. Lydia Schimmelpfennig, 86, Miot, formerly of Ruthville, died Tuesday. Funeral Saturday at 10, Lynch Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Glenburn. Burial Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.

Survivors: sons, Bennie, Ruthville, Ernest and Lawrence, both rural Minot, and Herbert, Bismarck; daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Esther) Carlson, Snohomish, Wash., and Laura, Grafton; 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brothers, August and Art, both Stewart, Minn., Emil and Ted, both Minot, and Reinhart, Seattle, Wash.; and sisters, Mrs. Martha Grimm and Minnie Lade, both Minot, and Mrs. Tillie Genz, Stewart.

Friends may call at Thomas Funeral Home until 8:30 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
