Emilie Wolff was born August 5, 1866, in Germany, the daughter of Ferdinand and Bertha Wolff. She came to the United States with her parents when she was a young girl. They settled in Wisconsin. On February 7, 1884, she married Frank Lade at Grant, Wisconsin. The couple resided in Wisconsin for a few years, later moving to Minnesota, eventually settling northwest of Minot in 1902.

Frank and Emile had 12 children; Herman, Emil, Martha, Lydia, Minnie, Helena, Otelia, Clara, August, Reinhard, Arthur and Theodore.

She is survived by her husband; 12 children, stepsons, Frank and Charles Lade; father, Ferdinand Wolff; brothers, William, Herman and Otto Wolff; sisters, Mrs. Minnie Grueneberg, Mrs. Bertha Reinke and Mrs. Martha Doncaster.
