William Shakespeare wrote about yielding up the body to the earth. Such finality arrived the 23rd of January, a Wednesday, as Gregory Paul Johnson slipped from this earth to be ushered into the halls of death.

A memorial service for Mr. Johnson will be at noon Monday in St. John Lutheran Church, Peru. Burial will be private. Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, is assisting the family.

LaVern and Doris Johnson had accepted a tiny gift from the vaults of eternity on May 7, 1966, in Alexandria, Minn. Then as so many journeys occasion upon this earth, his pathway sojourns also included names such as Arendal, Webster, Stendal, Ohio and finally Malden, pinpointed in Minnesota, Indiana and Illinois. As with the developing intellects of so many children, the opportunity doors of education swung open in Peterson, Northfield, Pike County and a degree from Vincennes where the destinies of robotic and human intermingled.

An achievement award for 20 years dedicated lathe and milling machine employment service with Sunstrand in Peru and Freeport resulted in habitation decor.

In his final fleeting moments of Jan. 23, his mother bent over his face and she heard his barely audible voice, "I must get to work." He then glanced at his sister, Sheryl Harris, and brother, Thomas, at that setting, scores of miles distance precluded for this sister, Nancy and brother, William also being present. As also for various relatives in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Indiana.

Johnson presently resides out beyond the stars and galaxies, with the infinities of so many others who preceded into that sojourn — from those tiny gifts to the mission God respectively bestowed upon them, their consignment is forever.
