Memorial services for Russell Leon Curl will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2011 in The Light House Church of Oakdale with the Rev. Jerry W. Odom officiating. The Louisiana National Honor Guard will conduct military rites. The arrangements will be under the guidance of White Oaks, Oakdale.

Russell, 75, of Elizabeth, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 5, 2011 in the Allen Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Oakdale. He was born on May 13, 1936 in Bastrop to Curtis and Mildred McFarlin Curl. He worked at the Calcasieu Paper Company, he was a cook at Fort Polk and the Grand Coushatta and a retired Veteran of the U.S. National Guard.

He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memory, wife of 18 years of Elizabeth; two daughters both of Stafford, Texas; two-step sons of Leesville: one brother of North Virginia; one sister of Gretna; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
