Michael "Mike" Donavan Fridley passed away on April 13, 2014 at home in Anacoco, LA. He was the owner of Mike's Custom Mufflers of Leesville. Previously, he was employed by Morris Tire Service of Leesville for approximately 20 years. Mike was an avid race car fan and extremely knowledgeable and skilled in most aspects of the automotive field. He built many racing engines, designed suspensions, constructed race car bodies, and assisted many local racers with the fine tuning and tweaking of their race cars. He was the local"go to person' for assistance toward any problems encountered with race cars. This was also Mike's hobby while growing up in California. Daily and certainly on Saturday mornings, local racers would gather at Mike's shop to enjoy coffee, donuts, bench racing and for racing tips shared from the speed guru.

Mike was born in Plattsburg, New York on January 28, 1956, but lived most of his young life in California. He joined the US Army after high school and eventually moved to Leesville, La. Mike married the love of his life whom he met in high school and they were married for 39 years.
Mike is survived by his wife of Anacoco; daughter of Anacoco; Son of Anacoco; two grandsons; one step-granddaughter; his mother of Leesville and closest and best friend James "Jim" W. of Leesville

Mike's request was to be cremated. Plans for a celebration of Mikes life will be announced later. Family request any donations be made in honor of Mike to the American Heart Association or to St. Judes.
