Barbara Sliman Fontan, 56 of Leesville passed from this life on Sunday May 29, 2011 in her residence.
Ms. Fontan was born and raised in Vernon Parish; she is a graduate of Leesville High School and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. She lived in Covington, Louisiana for 25 years. Ms. Fontan a school teacher for 30 years earned her Bachelor and two Masters in Education. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, DAV Auxiliary, Soldiers Angel, and APEC.
Preceded in death by her Father: Peter J. Sliman Jr.
Survivors include one Son: Wesley Clay Joseph Fontan of Leesville; Mother: Pat Sliman of Leesville; Brothers: Peter J. Sliman III, wife Kathleen and niece Eden of Leesville, William David Sliman of Mooringsport, LA; Sister: Susan Sliman Benson, husband Randy, two nieces: Rachael and Alex, and nephew: Thor of Leesville; Numerous family, loved ones and friends.
Memorial gathering was Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville. Memorial Services were Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Hixson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Michiels officiated.
A Memorial Service will be held in Covington, LA., on a date to be announced later.
