Gene was a lifelong resident of Longview. He was born Feb. 5, 1955, to Eugene L. and Suzanne Hawn, and graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1974.
A few of Gene's employers were Reynolds Metals Co., Longview Memorial Park and Lemmons Trucking. Gene enjoyed fishing, camping and turning wrenches in his garage. He also enjoyed the beach and was an avid animal lover. No stray passed by his home hungry. Morning coffee time was a favorite with family and close friends. His quality time was spent lending a helping hand to those in need, involving his family and grandchildren, and teaching along the way.
Gene is survived by his loving wife; three sons; his parents; two brothers; two sisters; and 10 grandchildren.
At Gene's request, no service will be held.
The family is grateful for the on-going support they've received through the years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Home Health & Hospice, P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632.
