Native of Illinois. Enlisted in Co. E, 22nd Iowa Infantry, age 22, on 8 August 1862. Wounded at Vicksburg, 22 May 1863. Captured at Winchester, Va., 19 Sep. 1864. Mustered out 25 July 1865. R.I.P. from a son of the 22nd Iowa.

Death Certificate notes him to be buried at Forest Home but that is clearly a mistake. Dates match.
Farlow Cemetery was often called Reece Cemetery.
