December 8, 1905
Mrs. Matilda Cole, one of the pioneer and most highly respected residents of the county, passed away at her home in Dodge Township near Mineral Ridge, at 4:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, in her eighty second year. She came to Boone county over fifty years ago and has resided on the old homestead in Dodge township ever since. She was well known over the northern part of the county and in Boone, and highly esteemed by everyone. A few weeks ago she received a bad fall, breaking one of her limbs and badly bruising her. Her advanced age made it impossible for her to recover from the shock and death resulted. The funeral services will be held at 11:00 o'clock this morning from the Baptist church at Mineral Ridge, conducted by the Rev. Tingley burial in the Mineral Ridge cemetery.
