Murder Victim, British Aristocracy. Son of Patricia Edwina Victoria Mountbatten Knatchbull, 2nd Countess Mountbatten of Burma and John Ulick Knatchbull, 7th Baron Brabourne. He and his identical twin, Timothy, were the youngest of the Knatchbull children and godsons of HRH Charles, Prince of Wales. Timothy and Nicholas were with their grandfather, Lord Mountbatten, their paternal grandmother, and parents on August 27, 1979 when a terrorist bomb was deliberately detonated on their boat in Donegal Bay off the coast of Ireland. Nicholas, his grandparents, and a 15 year old Ulster boy, Paul Maxwell, were killed. Nicholas was 14. Tim wrote of Nicky's loss, which he described as losing a part of part of himself, "...not so much a bereavement as an amputation," in his 2009 memoir, "From a Clear Blue Sky."Son of
