Enlisted as a Private (date unknown), he was mustered into "D" Co. VA 49th Infantry.
Wounded 5/31/1862 at Seven Pines.
Killed In Action 12/13/1862 in the Battle of Fredericksburg, Va.

The 49th Infantry Regiment completed its organization in July, 1861. Its members were from the counties of Prince William, Warren, Fauquier, Rappahannock, Amherst, and Shenandoah.
