Ellis was the ninth of twelve children born to Milton and Henrietta Elizabeth (Sprague) Bean. He died at the age of 43. He was never married.

CENTENNIAL VALLEY RESIDENT KILLED IN LOGGING ACCIDENT

Word has been received of the death of Ellis Bean, a native of the Centennial Valley, in a logging accident in Aberdeen, Washington. No details of the fatal accident have been learned. The deceased son of Milton Bean, Centennial rancher, had left about seven years ago for Washington. He is survived by his father, three brothers, Farmer and Sonny of the Centennial, and Jack Bean of Salmon; and five sisters, Mrs. Charles Torp of Chinook, Mrs. Milford Judy of Salmon, Mrs. James McBride of Lima, and Mrs. W.L. McDowell of Dillon. Mr. Bean and Farmer and Sonny left immediately for the Washington city. No word has been received as to the funeral arrangements.
