Garett Dominic Eugene Coleman, 11, passed away at 7:55 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at his residence.

He was born to Christopher and Sheri (nee Weiss) Coleman on April 30, 1998 at Andrews U.S. Air Force Base in Washington.

He was a member of Destiny Church in St. Louis and the church youth group. He loved sports and played on the Columbia Blue Jay football team. He was a fourth grader at Parkview Elementary School in Columbia.

Survivors include father, Chris Coleman of Columbia; grandparents, Pastor Ronald and Connie Coleman of Chester, Donald Weiss of Clearwater, Fla., Angela DeCiceo of La Grange Park; three uncles, Bradley (Jennifer) Coleman of Chester, Keith (Emily) Coleman of Roger, Ark., Mario Weiss of La Grange Park; cousins, Drew, Aubrey and Addison Coleman; and by his great-grandparents, great-uncles and great-aunts.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sheri.

Private service will be held, with Pastor Mike Shepard and Pastor Phil Stern officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Grace Church Ministries in Chester.
