Bobby Eugene Garmon, Sr., age 71, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away on Friday, September 17th, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Virginia Sosebee Garmon of Lawrenceville; daughter Elaine Kilgore and son-in-law Phillip Kilgore of Snellville; son Bobby Garmon Jr. and daughter-in-law Sybil Garmon of Dacula; daughter Lisa Whitney and son-in-law Gary Whitney of Lawrenceville; six grandchildren—Amanda Rice, Brandi Kilgore, Brianna Garmon, Kaylee Whitney, and Miranda Garmon; two great-grandchildren—Madison and Emma Rice; sister Louise Cruse and brother-in-law Elbert Cruse of Cumming; brother Charles Garmon and sister-in-law Ethel Garmon of Statham. He is predeceased by his grandson Mitchell Scott Garmon.
Bobby was born July 23, 1939 to Howard and Susie Garmon. A native of Atlanta, Bobby was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Korea. He was retired from Atlanta Beverage/ Eagle Rock of Stone Mountain. Bobby loved spending time with his family, keeping up with current events, and following his favorite NASCAR drivers.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 21st in the Chapel of Tom M. Wages Funeral Home in Snellville at 1:00 PM, with Minister Harold Savage of Snellville officiating. Interment will follow the service at Eternal Hills. The Garmon family will receive visitors on Monday, September 20th at Tom M. Wages Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
