Born the second child of five children of Roy Edmund Beck and Mary Edna (Stone) Beck, she grew up in Wayne and attended Wayne Schools.
In 1942, she married Harold Guthrie and 5 children were born to this union. In 1961, Mr. Guthried passed away unexpectedly, and two years later, she married Jerry Graham. Together, they raised the children while making their home in Wayne.
Not only a wife and homemaker, Mrs. Guthrie had various jobs in Purcell, working for Pete Pritchett at the Western Auto Store, Artie and Paul Jones' Variety Store and later for Mike Bryant.
Remembered as a wonderful wife, a loving mother and grandmother, a special sister and aunt, she enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, cooking for her family and working with crafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 daughters, Wanda H. Webley and Paula Jo Williams; sister, Lorene Wingard; brother, Cotton Beck and 2 grandchildren, Samuel Staten and Carey Guthrie.
Survivors inclyde her husband, Jerry; three children, daughter, Chris Wright, of Wayne and sons, Dean Guthrie, Chickasha, and Dana Guthrie, Norman; 2 sisters, Mary Beth Cunningham, Washington, and Theta Kinney, Port Aransas, TX; 3 step-children, Susan, Donna and Darlene; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and 6 step-great-grandchildren.
