DAVENPORT - Henry S. Ackroyd, age 89 passed away at his home Davenport, Fl. from congestive heart failure.

Mr. Ackroyd was born November 17, 1919 in Portland, Maine and moved here in 1952 from Knoxville, Tennessee. He was a retired food inspector for USDA, a Army Veteran of WW II, member of the American Legion, Davenport Chamber of Commerce, past City Councilman for the City of Davenport. a member of Davenport United Methodist Church, and also attended Winter Haven Worship Center.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Juanita Cromartie Ackroyd in 1998.

Survived by his Son, Mark Ackroyd of Davenport; Two Daughters; Catharine Allen of Clearwater and Renea Villers of Murfreesboro, Tn.; and Seven Grandchildren.

Friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 PM. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 1001 Grace Ave., Haines City. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Oak Ridge Funeral Care Chapel, Haines City. Interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave. Auburndale, Fl. 33823.
